Milford police detective division, computer crimes unit, identified the address of the computer where the message posted on the website of Caswell Cove originated from.
At 3:00 PM on April 1, 2008 police identified a 47-year-old male who resides in the Caswell Cove complex as being the individual responsible for the alleged posting. A search warrant was issued and executed at his home. Subsequent the search, n o firearms were found in his home and is computer was seized for forensic review of the hard drive. Although no charges were filed on that date, the male (Hansen) was sent to Milford Hospital for an evaluation.
At 6:00 on April 1, 2008 police detectives retrieved the posting from the hard drive that specifically stated;
“How about we just shoot all the dogs. You can just let them run free on weekends, and anyone can pick them off if they get too close. Cats are fair game too : ).”
“Good Idea. I hate kids too. Let them out with the dogs and cats. I got an AK-47 ready to go.”
