milford police received a complaint of a motor vehicle accident on new haven avenue at the intersection of buckingham avenue. upon the arrival of police and fire personnel, a telephone police was found sheared off and two occupants of the vehicle involved in the crash had to be extricated from the wreck.
 
preliminary investigation revealed that 20 year-old jill cowperthwaite of high street milford was operating a 2002 subaru eastbound on new haven avenue when she struck a utility pole, shearing it off causing wires to come down. her vehicle then traveled across the road and careened off several parked car in the parking lot of ace automotive.
 
other than the operator, there was three other passengers who were injured in the crash and transported to area hospitals.
 
jill cowperthwaite SUCCUMBED to injuries she received in the crash and was pronounced dead at yale new haven hospital. also in the vehicle was;

                                                                megan cook (20) of wildwood avenue milford
 
the condition of the three passengers is unavailable at press time
 
the milford police traffic division is continuing the investigation and asks that anyone who may have witnessed the a ccident to call them at (203) 878-5244

police received information that serrano, who has several outstanding warrants for his arrest, was at the connecticut post mall. officers responded and with the assistance of security began checking the mall. when serrano spotted police walking towards him, he fled on foot running through the mall and into macy’s. a police officer in macy’s blocked his escape route and both collided into a glass display case.  serrano continued to struggle making an ATTEMPT to flee however he was subdued and taken into custody.
