PRESS RELEASE
MAYOR’S YOUTH AWARD CEREMONY

Mayor James L. Richetelli, Jr., in conjunction with Milford Youth and Family Services, will once again present the Mayor’s Youth Award in a ceremony scheduled on Thursday,
March 26, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall Auditorium.

Each year, the Mayor and Milford Youth and Family Services acknowledge youth that have performed outstanding service to improve Milford or to assist its residents.  Any youth age 18 or under is eligible.  Areas of involvement may include school, church, or volunteer work aimed at improving the quality of life in the city. Nominees will be considered for individual awards in three categories including elementary, middle, and high school. In addition, there is a group category to honor community services performed by, but not limited to, church youth groups, Boy Scouts/Girls Scouts, school and community groups.  

Teachers, principals, parents, fellow students, neighbors, group leaders, clergy, and others in the community are among those who may nominate a youth/group for this award.  If you know of a young person(s) or group who meets the above criteria, please submit a completed nomination form to this department. Nomination forms can be obtained from and returned to Milford Youth and Family Services, 150 Gulf Street, Milford, CT 06460.  Additionally, forms can be exchanged via fax at (203) 783-3238 or email using lbartlett@ci.milford.ct.us.  Please address nomination forms to Lindsey Bartlett, Program Coordinator.

Nomination forms must be received by Monday, March 2, 2009 to be considered. The Mayor’s Youth Award Forms may be copied and distributed as needed. Questions and requests for nomination forms may be directed to Lindsey Bartlett at (203) 783-3253.
